MSL Home Emergency Insurance

As an established product in the UK home emergency insurance has been a great benefit for many thousands of policyholders each year who experience sudden unexpected problems in their homes, such as a boiler breaking down in winter or needing to remove a wasps nest. These are just two of the problems our home emergency cover is designed to help with.

What is covered?

MSL home emergency insurance policy will give complete peace of mind with four levels of cover to choose from.

All our policies will cover plumbing and drainage and primary heating system for sudden and unexpected events like burst pipes. Additionally, customers can add on as much or as little as they need from a range of additional home emergency covers. The full list includes:

  • Bursting or sudden leakage of water pipes within the property
  • Complete failure of the central heating system involving a boiler or warm air unit
  • Damage to, or mechanical failure of, the only accessible toilet or cistern in the property which results in complete loss of function
  • Removal of wasp nests, field or house mice or brown rats within the property.
  • Break-in or vandalism compromising the security of the property.
  • Failure of or damage to underground drains or sewers
  • Failure of the mains services for which they are legally responsible be that electrics, water, gas or sewage

Product features to consider

The cost of home emergency can vary, the more comprehensive cover the higher the cost, and we work to keep the price competitive for your customers.

We can cover all types of boilers but only those up to 15 years of age. We cannot yet cover any of the newer “green energy” appliances but will be looking to introduce that cover as soon as we can.

Unlike some other companies, we will not cover roof repairs as we have not found an economic and efficient way to offer roof repairs, so we would rather pass the benefit on in terms of lower premiums.

We are not able to cover landlords’ properties under our home emergency cover.
